Community News Updates 2022

We live in a “vertical community”, with a diverse range of ages and interests! For some new residents, it’s their first taste of ‘shared living’, for others it’s been their preferred style of living for many years!

We are fortunate to live in such an amazing location – we couldn’t be closer to the action and attractions of Takapuna! With so many restaurants, shops, and activities right on our doorstep! And we must be the envy of Auckland to have our very own Takapuna Beach just a few minutes’ walks away!

In our immediate vicinity, we have the new and amazing “Hello Sailor” bakery and café – a very popular spot for residents! Next door is Mamak Malaysian restaurant – one of the best Malaysian restaurants in Auckland! As well as “Namam” and “Ramen Noodles”. Also NZ Drycleaners, all fellow residents in our building.

We are loving the convenience of the newly opened New World Metro in Shore City, as well as the local vege shop and dairy right next door. The very popular Takapuna Sunday markets are continuing at the Anzac Street carpark for the time being.

From time to time, we have social events (usually in summer, in the “Bus Stop”, or in winter in the foyer). There are several interest groups, understandably all have taken a break during this crazy COVID year! Notices for these events are either in the lift, the noticeboard next to the letterboxes or with the concierge.

We also have a Facebook page – Started at the beginning of COVID Alert Level 4 as a support page and general chit chat for residents during that bewildering time! Ask the concierge for details.

Also nearby is the Shore City Mall, recently refurbished Monterey Cinema, Pumphouse Theatre, and the Bruce Mason Theatre.

Pool – usually the pool is heated and ready to use by Labour Weekend, and runs until Easter.

Gas heating has recently been installed to enable us to swim in very pleasant 26/27 degrees!

Thinking of summer coming up – your BC is currently assessing a major landscaping development for the very spacious Level 4 Podium, pool, spa and bbq areas. Watch this space! Also the foyer on Level 2 is being updated. Covid woes have slowed these projects somewhat!!
